Who I Am

Greetings, my designation is Jon Barnes. I was born at age zero and have survived as a successful living organism on this planet until present day. My biology consists of three components: 1. a structural mass, 2. a nervous system which detects external forces exerting pressure upon my mass and 3. a muscular system which exerts equal and opposite pressure thus maintaining my equilibrium.

I would say that’s enough talk about my person, but I’d be lying, because then I wouldn’t have made a website. This website is about me. About me helping you. With whatever it is you need help with. I make music and web applications better than I make granola, which is, in turn, better than I make beer. That’s not to say any of it’s bad. It’s just that there are tiers.

Well, getting back to it, after carefully reviewing the literature on this digital novel, feel free to contact me with any concerns you have that are not about the nature of this digital novel.

Development

I primarily develop with PHP, C#, and Angular, and enjoy curating data and creating APIs.

Environments

Fairly comfortable with operations on most cloud solutions, including AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and a handful of VPS providers.

Design

Comfortable with CSS and various pre-processors like SASS. Can manipulate with Photoshop/InDesign and work from Sketch.

Performing Musician

I enjoy playing music and try my hand(s) (and feet) on the piano, bass, drums, guitar, and more recently, trumpet.

Composer

Composing music is a favorite of mine. Swing, electronic, rock, solo guitar, or whatever pops into my head.

Engineer

I use Cubase and a small handful of hardware trinkets. A more amateur past time of mine, recording is a great way to incorporate love of composing, performing, and computers.

Food

Certainly not a professional, but I absolutely love cooking. My latest recipe is a single, polished bean resting atop a small, unruly pile of different colored beans. I call it ‘The Aristocrat’.

Coffee

I enjoy my coffee beyond its necessity. Ethiopians know how to grow a bean!

Beer

New to brewing, but have been enjoying pints for years.
